Renewable energies
The activity and the attitude of E.ON Energie Romania towards the global interest in environmental protection
Wind power plants reduce electricity generation based on fossil fuel and polluting gas emission with greenhouse effect over the atmosphere. Promoting electricity generation from renewable sources is a timely must.
The renewable energy source or the non-fossil sources are as follows:
- wind energy,
- solar energy,
- geothermal energy,
- wave energy,
- tide energy,
- hydro energy,
- biomass,
- landfill gas resulted from the anaerobic digestion of waste, also called storage gas,
- sewage treatment plant gas,
- biogas.
As part of the negotiations for the integration in the European Union (EU), chapter 14 Energy, as well as part of the EU member states policy for the promotion of renewable energies usage, adopted the Strategy related to the use of renewable energies (HG1535/2003) and the promotion of electricity generation based on renewable sources (HG 958/2005).
Under these normative acts there are mentioned the following objectives that has to meet:
- the percentage of the renewable resources within the domestic gross energy consumption: 11% 2010
- the percentage of the renewable resources within the gross electricity consumption: 33% 2010 ; 35% 2015; 38% 2020.
E.ON, one of the most important energy multinational companies worldwide would like to actively contribute to achieving these objectives. Beside E.ON, we get involved in promoting electricity generation from renewable sources, focusing on the development wind potential.
In this context, we created E.ON Regenerabile Romania with the premises in Iaşi, a company focusing on developing the wind potential in the area of Moldova. Its objective is to reduce the impact of the electricity sector on the environment.
Together with the Heating & Wind team within the Business Development Department, E.ON Regenerabile Romania deals with activities related to wind energy generation through a series of remarkable projects and a continuous identification of opportunities in this field.
