Can I obtain indemnifications for appliances damaged due to voltage shocks?

E.ON Moldova Distribuţie grants indemnifications to household customers for the appliances damaged due to voltage shocks, only under the conditions of observing the Electricity supply contract and the Procedure for the indemnification of household customers for damaged appliances due to the distributor’ fault. Within maximum 5 days after the occurrence of the event that led to the damaging of the appliance, the contract holder shall submit a written application to the Customer Care Centre corresponding to his/ her consumption place, requesting damage payment.

Can I obtain indemnifications for the electrical installations located on my property?

According to the Energy Law 13/2007, the areas occupied by the electricity distribution installations existing as at the enforcement date of the present law are and remain under the public property of the state. The same energy law provisions that usage and easement rights over the properties occupied by energetic capacities are subject to public utility, under legal terms and they exercising is free of charge during the entire useful life of the installations.

In order to protect the electricity distribution networks, legal and natural persons are forbidden to limit or restrict the access of the distribution operator in the installations by fencing the area, constructions or in any other way.

For the electrical installations displace after the enforcement date of this law, exercising usage and easement rights over private property corresponding to the energetic capacities shall be carried out compliant with certain procedural rules provisioned under the agreements concluded with the owners of the occupied land and they shall also comprise the quantum of the indemnifications and the damages, as well as the their payment method.

Does one pay for the meter replacement?

If the customer requires that the meter is replace before the expiration date of its metrological validity period, without contesting the electricity consumption recorded by the meter, the device is replaced upon a charge. In case the request is argued with an erroneous registration of the electricity consumption (plus or minus), it shall be replaced and then sent for metrological check-up. You shall bear the cost of the meter replacement and of its check-up in case the device proves to be functional after the metrological check-up.

If I want to change (movement of the current site) the electrical installations, who bears the costs for these works?

As per the provisions under the Energy Law, the expense for the movement of the electricity distribution installations as a result of the connection of new users or change of the initial energetic characteristics of the existing users, including the creation of sites are borne by the one generating the change. In order to execute works, the applicant shall address a construction company authorised by the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority.

What do I do if I am disconnected from the electrical network without any reason?

The fastest way of signalling out these issues is to make a free-of-charge call to 939, Call Center (from the menu, you can choose the option of being transferred to an operator for individual consultancy) or to come to the Customer Care Centre corresponding to your consumption place.

Can I be granted financial support for electricity feeding?

The financing source for electricity feeding from the public interest network are represented by the funds of the interested people, according to the Guideline for the connection of users to the public interest electrical networks, and the electrification of the communities is financed from funds in the local or state budget, or from other legally constituted funds.

Who is responsible for wood-cutting in the network?

Having in view the high risk of electrocution, the wood-cutting works are carried out only by the distribution operator or under its supervision so that the flow of electricity is interrupted in the respective area. We should be informed about any cases wherein vegetation may lead to interruptions of the electricity feeding process via our Customer Care Centre or Call Center.

In order to protect the electricity distribution networks, legal and natural persons are forbidden to organise plantations in the safety area of the electricity distribution networks without the approval of the distribution operator.

Who is responsible for remedying public lighting?

The public lighting service falls under the responsibility of the local public administration. E.ON Moldova Distribuţie is obliged to remedy malfunctions, faults or failures occurring in the electricity distribution network ensuring electricity feeding to the public lighting installations. the City Hall is responsible for the replacement of the illuminators.

Who can check the electrical installations in my house?

This service can be provided by a company (natural person) authorised by the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority and in order to chose such a company you can check out the list of economic operators authorised by A.N.R.E.
