The CS social tariff

Facilities offered to customers with low income

For the household customers with the average monthly income of the family member lower or equal to the minimum monthly salary set forth by the Governmental Decision, the social tariff may be granted upon request. It is valid only for the consumption place of the customer’s residence.

In case the social tariff is applied, the consumption in the billing period is split on three successive quotas:

Due to this calculation method, the social tariff is advantageous only for customers with a monthly average electricity consumption of up to 100 KWh. In case the monthly average consumption exceeds 100 KWh, the social tariff is not advantageous anymore, thus choosing a different type of tariff from among those regulated for household customers is recommended.

Prices for the three invoicing quotas
Voltage level Quota 2 kWh/day (lei/kWh) Quota 2-3 kWh/day (lei/kWh) Quota 3 kWh/day (lei/kWh)
Low voltage
0-1 kV inclusive)
0.1804 0.4330 0.8537

Calculation example:

For a consumption between 1 – 2 KWh/day (up to 60 KWh/month), the value of the monthly billed energy might be:
Daily volume (KWh) x number of days in the month x Price for the first quota (lei/KWh)

For a consumption between 2 – 3 KWh/ day (60 up to 90 KWh/month), the first 60 KWh is billed at the price for the first quota and the rest at the price for the second quota:
60 KWh x Price for the first quota (lei/KWh) + (Actual consumption – 60 KWh) x Price for the second quota (lei/KWh).

For a consumption higher than 3 KWh/ day (> 90 MWh/ month):
60 KWh x Price for the first quota (lei/KWh) + 30 KWh x Price for the second quota (lei/KWh) + (Actual consumption – 90 KWh) x Price for the third quota (lei/KWh).

Calculate the invoice directly

If the monthly actual consumption is lower than the level of the maximum consumption set up for any of the two quotas, the volume that was not consumed cannot be carried forward to the next billing period.
