E.ON Moldova Distribution commissions the first underground electrical cable with a voltage of 110 kV in the Moldavian region
Today, December 11th, 2008, there was commissioned the 110 kV underground electrical cable connecting the 110/20 kV Hurmuzachi and Radauti substations, in the county of Suceava.
The work is a premiere for the Moldavian region, concerning both the operational voltage of the underground cable and the high technological level required by the work.
For our customers, the finalisation of these works determined an increase of the supply safety and the reduction of the electricity outages number and duration. For our employees serving working in these installations, the new equipments offer a high degree of safety during operation.
Mainly, the work consisted in installing 2.65 km of underground cable with the voltage of 110 kV and of a bay of 110 kV with the corresponding secondary circuits.
The two interconnected substation, Hurmuzachi and Radauti, are significant energy hubs for the feeding of the household and industrial customers with electricity in the northern part of the Suceava County.
There have been used state-of-the-art equipments and materials, reaching the level of those installed in the worldwide substations. They are highly viable and do not require maintenance works. The classical relays have been replaced with numerical terminals, thus having the possibility of integrating them in a remote control system for the electrical grid at the level of E.ON Moldova Distribution.
Catalin Dragoi, the General Director of E.ON Moldova Distribution: “Today, we witness a premiere for the business area of E.ON Moldova Distribution. We are proud of this achievement, which was a real challenge for our specialists and those of the companies we cooperated with.
