The E.ON – Kinder Football Cup for children designated its winners
On September 4, at the Sports Complex Sângeorgiu de Mureş, the awards ceremony took place for the E.ON – Kinder Football Cup for children.
The sports competition, rolled out between September 1-4 in Târgu Mureş, Ungheni and Sângeorgiu de Mureş, reached its third edition.
This year’s edition of the E.ON – Kinder Cup had an impressive number of 46 teams from the whole country, with over 500 children being involved in the battle for the podium.
After three days of disputed games, in which the young players proved talent and commitment, the standings of the E.ON – Kinder Cup looks like this:
For the group of children born in 1998:
- First place: Oţelul Galaţi
- Second place: LPS Piteşti
- Third place: Luceafărul Brăila
For the group of children born in 2000:
- First place: Oţelul Galaţi
- Second place: Luceafărul Brăila
- Third place: LPS Piteşti
For the group of children in 2001:
- First place: Oţelul Galaţi
- Second place: Şc. de Fotbal Marius Baciu Mediaş
- Third place: FC Braşov

Through the high number of participating teams, the tournament organized by Club ACS Kinder Sângeorgiu de Mureş, with the support of E.ON, was the football competition of the largest scale this year in Mureş County.
”The E.ON – Kinder Cup is part of a social responsibility program of E.ON România, which has the purpose to ensure a proper environment for children to practice sport. At the same time, the program proposes to make aware the children regarding their role in encouraging and supporting the children to practice sports. This year’s edition of the E.ON – Kinder Cup 2009 especially impressed us regarding the scale, the organization and the quality of the football played. I think that through their special performance in this tournament, the little athletes offered us a real lesson about what commitment, team spirit and fair play means”, stated Mr. Dan Morari, General Director of E.ON Gaz România.
In the end of the tournament, the Vice President of Club ACS Kinder, Mr. Pop Lupu Coriolan stated: „I am thrilled that this year’s edition of the E.ON – Kinder Cup was a success. This tournament was a challenge for us from the perspective of ensuring all the necessary conditions for its good roll out, taking in consideration especially the high number of participating teams. The results make us confident in the future of this project, and strengthened our trust that we are closet o the demands of the modern juvenile football. I want to thank our traditional partner, the E.ON Group, as well as the other sponsors for their important contribution, without which this tournament could have not been possible”.
The host team of E.ON – Kinder Cup, ACS Kinder Sângeorgiu de Mureş obtained, three years ago, the title of world vice champion for the age category 10-11 years, at the World Football Championship from Vellmar, Germany. In 2008, each group of children brought trophies for Club ACS Kinder. Thus, the 1993 Group won third place at the National Football Championship and first place at the Tournament „Viitorul Zalău”, Group 1994 – second place at the Tournament organized in Hungary, Group 1995 – fifth place at the National Championship and second place at Gheorghe Hagi Cup – national phase, Group 1996 – second place at the Tournament from Slovakia and second place at the National In-Door Football Competition, Group 1997 – first place at the County Football Championship, and Group 1998 – second place at Napoca Cup in Cluj-Napoca.
