E.ON continues its controll actions at the electric energy consumers in Bacău County

The E.ON group in Romania is permanently making efforts to improve the quality of the provided services. One preoccupation is the decrease of errors that can occure in the invoices emission process.

Part of these errors can be caused by outdated data regarding the consumption points. For this, the action commenced last month to update and complete the database with electric energy consumers from Bacau County continues.

Information regarding the contract holder and identification data (name, address, etc.) are update and completed through this action, as well as information regarding the technical characteristics of the meters. The improvement of the customer database leads also to a higher quality of the maintenance services, an increase in the effectiveness of interventions and also more efficiency in solving of customer requests and complaints.

At the same time, taking into account that a series of dysfunctions in the energy supply were signaled in the area, we extended this controls, through verifications meant to identify cases of fraudulent energy consumption.

A significant part of the dysfunctions in the energy supply appear when the capacity of the distribution gird is exceeded and this has as main cause the fraudulent energy consumption. The grid is calculated to provide a good quality of supply to all legally connected customers, but the company can only calculate the capacity of the grid with the known consumption.

In the first month of the controls in Bacău County, over 800 cases of fraudulent energy consumption were discovered.

E.ON Moldova Distribuţie draws attention to the persons who consume electric energy illegally regarding the risks at which they expose themselves.

Thus the energy theft through unauthorized interventions and improvised installations can lead to serious accidents. On the other hand, the company has no tolerance for fraud and will invoice the detected customers retroactively following the regulations in place for this procedure. In this context, these theft checks will be performed also multiple times in the same area to assure only legally connected customers will benefit from our services. In addition energy theft is an offence foreseen and sanctioned by the Penal Code.

Those people, stealing energy, are stealing from all honest customers, as their actions impede the quality of service and leads indirectly to the increase of the invoiced amounts of the honest customers. Therefore, it is in the interest and benefit of every honest customer to report any fraudulent energy consumption or action to stop these practices.

We kindly ask the consumers, who noticed fraudulent consumption situations, to announce them at the following phone number: 0801-000939, 0235-30555, or at the following address, Bacău, Ştefan cel Mare street, no. 22, or on the following e-mail address, sesizari.distributie@eon-romania.ro, sesizari@eon-romania.ro.

All mentioned control actions of our company will lead to the improvement of the quality of the energy supply services. Given the increase of reported problems we have chosen to start with Bacău county. In the next weeks this activity will be rolled out to our entire distribution area and also cover gas installations. Moreover we will repeat this kind of project as often as we need to protect our honest customers interest.
