In 2009, E.ON Moldova Distribuţie has continued the investments for the modernization and development of the electricity distribution grids

The value of the investments made in the distribution grid, since the privatization until present, amounts to roughly 500 million Lei. Other 500 million Lei have been allocated for grid distribution maintenance works.
„The investments for the modernization and development of the electricity distribution grids are a major objective of the company E.ON Moldova Distribuţie S.A. These investments ensure the safe functioning and operation of the grids as well as the observance of the quality standards for the services offered to our customers. In the current context, E.ON Moldova Distribuţie makes efforts to continue the investment programme initiated after the privatization and which implies the construction of new power capacities, as well as the rehabilitation and modernization of the already existing ones”, states Mr. Cătălin Drăgoi, General Director of E.ON Moldova Distribuţie.
Since the privatization, respectively, since October, 2005 until present, an important category of investments was aimed at modernizing the transformer stations as important power branch points for the supply of electricity to some large consumption areas. Thus, during this period of time, E.ON Moldova Distribuţie has performed modernization works in 102 transformer stations.

In the category of grid distribution development works, at the beginning of December, this year’s greatest investment of E.ON Moldova Distribuţie - the transformer station from Miroslava, Iaşi County was completed, the investment value rising to approximately 4 million Euros.
In this period of time, E.ON Moldova Distribuţie has replaced over 380 km of medium voltage underground cables. This year, works of this category were carried out in Bacău, the County of Bacău, Iaşi, the County of Iaşi, Botoşani and Darabani, Botoşani County, Tg. Moreover, E.ON Moldova Distribuţie has modernized about 580 km of above ground medium and low voltage grids, the works being planned especially for the rural areas within the company’s area of activity.
Another category of investments was aimed at ensuring a voltage level according to the standards for the electricity distributed to the customers. Such kind of works was carried out in 123 locations.
This year, works of this category have been performed in Bacău, Oituz, Luncani, Măgura, Bacău County, Darabani, Străteni and Huţani, Botoşani County, Păun, Vişani, Valea Lupului and Paşcani, Iaşi County, Sagna, Izvoare, Dumbrava Roşie and Alexandru cel Bun, Neamţ County, Vatra Moldoviţei and Cîmpulung Moldovenesc, Suceava County, Puieşti, Rusca and Tanacu, Vaslui County.
Furthermore, investments were made in order to automate the distribution system by installing remote controlled separators and reclosers as well as for the teletransmission metering system.
This year, the implementation of the integration project of the distribution installation using SCADA system was continued (remote control and data collection). SCADA system allows the real time monitoring of both parameters which characterize the quality of the conveyed energy as well as the manner of operation of the electric installations. Consequently, the operators have a permanent overall picture on the technical condition of the electric installations, thus enabling fast intervention when operation irregularities are found.
We are aware of the fact that our employees are the most important resource of the company. Their training is an important element which contributes both to the increase in quality of services provided to customers and the safe operation of the distribution grids. For this very reason, the modernization of E.ON Employee Training Center was finalized by an investment of about 2 million Euros, the Center being located in the municipal town of Suceava.
During the next years also, E.ON Moldova Distribuţie shall continue the development strategy so as to ensure the safe functioning and operation of the electricity distribution grids in order to increase the quality of the services offered to our customers.
