E.ON supports the communities affected by the disastrous floods during the last period

The E.ON Companies in Romania allocated a financial support amounting to 500,000 Euro for the reconstruction and renovation of schools, kinder gardens and medical dispensaries affected by the floods in the counties of Suceava and Botoşani

In order to reduce the impact of the floods and to bring the affected communities to a normal status as soon as possible, our company decided to get involved in the reconstruction and renovation of schools, kinder gardens and medical dispensaries in the counties of Suceava and Botosani. For this purpose, E.ON allocated a financial support amounting to 500,000 Euro.

Moreover, the employees of the E.ON Group in Romania initiated a campaign to collect funds for the same purpose. Each amount donated by the employees shall be doubled by the company, thus increasing the initial fund meant to support these communities.

Thus, at the end of the fund collection campaign, E.ON with the support of the Prefectures of Botosani County and of Suceava County cooperating with the local authorities shall co-ordinate all the actions taken for the restoration of the affected educational institutions and the sanitary units in the respective counties.

”We appreciate the E.ON gesture of supporting our county which is placed second concerning the damage generated by the floods. Thus, E.ON shows that it is interested not only in the rehabilitation of the gas and electricity networks, but also in supporting the communities in a precarious situation” stated the prefect of the county of Suceava, Mr. Alexandru Baisanu.

In his turn, the sub-prefect of the Botosani County, Mr. Mihai Elvadeanu appreciated as ”welcome the E.ON decision of financially contributing to the restoration of the educational and sanitary institutions in the area”. ”The support shall help them mitigate the effects of the floods as soon as possible”, he added.

”The involvement of E.ON in helping the communities affected by the floods is part of the corporate responsibility policy of the Group and it is a proof of the fact that we are a group of companies responsible for the communities we are part of”, state the representatives of E.ON in Romania.

For this purpose, the E.ON Group also donated 40.000 Euro for the action “Romania strikes roots – a TV show with donations to support the victims” organized by Realitatea TV in cooperation with UNICEF.

Actually, the E.ON Group has consistent principles related to the support granted to the communities in need, as two years ago, financial support of 500,000 Euro was granted for the victims in the Moldova area.
