E.ON Moldova Distribuţie carried out actions to identify electricity thefts
Based on an action programme meant to reduce fraudulent consumption, E.ON Moldova Distributie regularly carries out investigation actions in the areas where high electricity losses are recorded.
This programme was initiated due to the increase of the losses recorded in the distribution networks as a result of a higher number of electricity thefts.
On September 14th, 2008, our company controlled the customers in the Bacioi village, the Corbasca community, county of Bacau. During this action we were supported by teams of the County Gendarmerie Inspectorate in Bacau, wherewith we have concluded a co-operation agreement. On behalf of E.ON Moldova Distributie, there participated teams from the Energy Inspection Department and the Operational Centre in Vaslui. As a result of the controls, there were identified 10 cases of electricity thefts.
Our company shall continue the actions performed in view of recovering the fraudulent electricity consumption and the Gendarmerie shall initiate penal pursuit actions against the people guilty of theft.
“This kind of fraud consumption leads to a lower quality of the distribution services (outages, faults) provided to the customers of the supply companies through the uncontrolled loading of the electricity network phases and posts of transformer.” Ferenc Csulak, Deputy General Director E.ON Moldova Distributie.
